New Steins;Gate Novel Tells What Happens 6 Years After Game

2 characters in long-distance relationship & another returns in timeline in August 29 novel

5pb. announced on Friday that the newest Steins;Gate novel titled Steins;Gate -The Committee of Antimatter- will take place six years after the events of the Steins;Gate visual novel. Chōshirō Miwa will write the novel, and Tadasu Yoshida will illustrate it. In addition, Chiyomaru Shikura wrote the original scenario, and Naotaka Hayashi will direct it.

The novel takes place in 2016 in Akihabara on the Steins;Gate timeline. After graduating college, Okabe industrializes the “Future Gadget Laboratory,” but in fact, Daru is the one earning all the income and Okabe earns a living accepting detective-like requests. One day, the building owner’s daughter Nae asks Okabe to investigate her father, who she says is acting strange. However, Okabe remembers his experiences from the other timelines, and is worried. However, before he can think any further, he encounters Suzuha, a girl who should not exist on the Steins;Gate timeline.

The cast includes:

Rintarō Okabe, age 24. He is in a long-distance romantic relationship with Kurisu. After graduating college, he industrializes the Future Gadget Laboratory with Daru. However, most of his work is separate with that, helping people find lost their pets and helping out at the Akihabara shopping district.

Kurisu Makise, age 24. After graduating from the Victor Condoria graduate school, and currently is an associate member of the neuroscience research team at the same college. Although she is Okabe’s long-distance girlfriend, the two are very clumsy with their feelings, and there has been no progress in their relationship.

Nae Tennō, age 17. Although she is known to be very friendly to everyone she meets, she is also known to go berserk at times. Therefore, her friends call her, “Flat-Out Princess.”

Mayuri Shiina, age 22. She continues to help out at the Future Gadget Laboratory, and although she watches over Okabe and Kurisu’s long-distance relationship, she sometimes makes critical jabs about it.

Itaru “Daru” Hashida, age 24. A member of the Future Gadget Laboratory and Okabe’s best friend. He is currently developing new smartphone apps and web security programs. Although he is obsessed with the 2-D world, he is currently dating the lovely cosplayer Yuki Amane, who he met at Comic Market.

Suzu Amane, age 18 (?). A worker at Shop Brown who loves bicycles. However, she is not supposed to exist on the Steins;Gate timeline…The novel will ship on August 29, and will retail for 1,300 yen (about US$13).

Horror Light Novel ‘Another 2’ Planned for Fall Launch

Yukito Ayatsuji, the author of the horror light novel Another, reported last week that he intends to start serializing a new novel, tentatively titled Another 2, this year. However, he had two story ideas he was still contemplating for the novel. He asked his fans if they want to read a story set in 2001 or 2009.

He then added that the new novel will probably begin serializing “in a certain monthly magazine” this fall, and that it will probably be a 2001 storyline.

Kadokawa Group Publishing printed the original light novel in October of 2009. Yen Press released the novel digitally last year, and plans to publish it in hardcover in October. Ayatsuji already published a sequel novel called Another Episode S last year.

The original novel inspired both a manga series by Hiro Kiyohara (Shisso Holiday) and an anime by P.A. Works with original character designs by Noizi ItoCrunchyroll streamedthe anime as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for home video in North America, and describes the story:

Mei Misaki was cute, athletic, and one of the most popular girls in her school. Why should a little thing like death change that? Now, twenty-three years after Mei’s mysterious demise, a new transfer student discovers that not only is his school’s student body one corpse short of a full roster, but that some secrets never leave high school. What’s more, all of this may somehow be tied to his own family past. What is the secret and how does it all connect? And even if Kouichi does figure it out, will that knowledge help save him? As the school bells toll a deadly dirge and students begin to die, things that were never properly buried come back to haunt the high school of the damned!

High School DxD Gets a 3rd Season

Ichiei Ishibumi‘s school fantasy romantic comedy inspired seasons in 2012 & 2013. One of the best ecchi animes that I ever watched. XD

Publisher Fujimi Shobo announced on Monday that production on a third anime season based on Ichiei Ishibumi‘s High School DxD light novel series has been green-lit.

The original light novel series with Miyama-Zero‘s art centers around Issei Hyōdō, a dim-witted, lecherous second-year high school student who is killed by a girl on his first date ever. Issei (voiced by Yuuki Kaji) is reincarnated as a devil, and from that day forward, he serves as an underling of Riasu (Yōko Hikasa), a high-level devil who is also the prettiest girl on Issei’s campus.

Tetsuya Yanagisawa directed the first season at the anime studio TNK with scriptwriter Takao Yoshioka and character designer Junji Goto. The season premieredin Japan in 2012, and Funimation licensed it for North America for streaming and home video. The second season aired last summer and reunited most of the main staff and cast. Funimation alsolicensed the second season for streaming and home video.
