Saekano -belssing flowers- PS Vita Game: Megumi Kato Test Scene Streamed

The official website of Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend -blessing flowers- released the fifth test scene of the game for PlayStation Vita. The video focuses on a park scene with Megumi Katō (voiced by Kiyono Yasuno).

The game utilizes Live 2D software that moves characters with CGI but retains their two-dimensional look.

Players take on the role of the protagonist Tomoya Aki (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) to “raise” a heroine of their choosing for a doujin game. At certain points in the game, the heroines will clash over issues and the player will have to decide which opinion to support. The heroines include:

The game shipped in Japan on April 30. A limited edition with an original soundtrack CD and a B2-size cloth poster retails for 8,800 yen (about US$74), a regular edition for 6,800 yen (US$57), and a download edition for 6,000 yen (US$51). The first copies of all editions include a download code for an original custom PS Vita theme.

Rail Wars Mages Game’s System, Mechanics Unveiled

Game developer Mages announced on Tuesday the details of its upcoming game inspired by the anime adapting Takumi Toyoda‘s Rail Wars! -Nihon Kokuyū Tetsudō Kōantai- (Rail Wars! Japanese National Railways Security Force) light novel series.

The system for the game will be the PlayStation Vita, and will feature an original story. The game will also have a “Turn-out selection system” as a part of the game’s mechanics. More details will be unveiled in the July 24 issue of Kadokawa’s Famitsu magazine on Thursday.

The “dream railway paradise entertainment” story of Rail Wars! is set in a parallel world where Japan did not privatize its national railways. Naohito Takayama is an ordinary high school boy who dreams of a comfortable future working for the top-rated Japanese National Railways. He is assigned as one of four high school trainees in the Railways Security Force. Also in his group is Aoi Sakurai, a female troublemaker who hates men. On top of his sudden transfer, an extremist group called “RJ” plots to privatize the Japanese National Railways.

The anime adaptation of the novels premiered on Japanese television earlier this month, andCrunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime for North American release.

Nippon Ichi Software released a new promotional video for Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Cross Thesis (The Cross Thesis of God and a Fateful Revolution), the sequel to Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox (The Guided Fate Paradox). After delays, the role-playing game will ship for PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 25.

The game will star one hero and two heroines:

Asami Imai as Jupiel Soraumi

Yumi Hara as Arle Agarie.

According to Nippon Ichi, the player can only save the one heroine they choose.

NIS produced The Guided Fate Paradox “destiny revolution RPG” last year as its first 20th anniversary commemorative title. The creative team behind NIS’ Disgaea role-playing game series planned and developed the project. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel illustrator Noizi Ito served as a character designer for the game along with Airi Hori, and Yousei Teikoku (The Future Diary,Katanagatari theme songs) provided soundtrack and theme song. The voices of Love Live!‘s idol group voiced several characters in the game under the alias of their Love Live! character’s names.

The first game shipped in Japan last January. NIS America shipped the game in North America and Europe last fall.

The official website for the Chōjigen Action Neptune U (Hyperdimensional Action Neptunia U) action PlayStation Vita game began streaming a new promotional movie on Tuesday.

The video begins by proclaiming that the Neptunia franchise finally has an action game. After introducing the story and characters with the accompaniment of the theme song “Venus no Harmonia” (Harmony of Venus) by Asami Imai (Noire/Black Heart in the Neptunia franchise), the video previews the gameplay. Players can fight monsters solo or with dual characters, experience “costume break” (losing their outfits in battle), use familiar elements from the franchise such as transformation and EXE Drive in a new fast-paced action system, and use new playable characters (Dengekiko and Famitsu).

Characters Neptune/Purple Heart (Rie Tanaka), Noire/Black Heart (Asami Imai), Blanc/White Heart (Kana Asumi), and Vert/Green Heart (Rina Satou) are returning for the game.

The game will debut on August 28 for 6,458 yen (about US$63) for the regular edition, 8,610 yen (US$85) for the limited edition, and 5,600 yen (US$55) for the download version. The limited edition will include two drama CDs and a “hyperdimension cleaner cloth.” People who pre-order will receive a produce code card to obtain the “Wakuwaku!! Swimsuit Set.”

Dengeki announced on Thursday that Yukina Himeragi from Strike the Blood and Rentarō Satomi from Black Bullet will join Sega and ASCII Media Works‘ arcade fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax as playable characters. Yukina’s support character will be Kojō Akatsuki (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya), and Rentarō’s support character will be Enju Aihara (Rina Hidaka).

Akira of the Virtua Fighter fighting game appears as a boss, and the game has a Sonic the Hedgehogstage.

Publisher ASCII Media Works and game developer Sega announced Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, their crossover 2D fighting game, in September at the Tokyo Game Show 2013 event. The game is the fourth collaboration between ASCII Media Works‘ Dengeki Bunko imprint and Sega, and it marks Dengeki Bunko’s 20th anniversary.

The game opened in Japanese arcades earlier this spring.

The official website for the Zelda Musō (Hyrule Warriors) Wii U video game began streaming two videos previewing characters in battle. The videos that have been unveiled are ones of Link’s staff and Impa’s broad sword.

The game is slated to ship on September 26 in North America and August 14 in Japan. The game willship in Japan in three versions: A normal version for 7,389 yen (about US$74), a premium box containing an official book of art and settings, a Triforce alarm clock, a set of three types of “Courage” in-game costumes, and a set of three “Wisdom” in-game costumes for the price of 10,800 yen (about US$108), and a Treasure Box containing all of the contents of the premium box, as well as two in-game “Power” costumes”, a real “Scarf of Courage,” and a treasure box-styled jewelry box that makes sounds.
